Logan and the Tale of 5 Strawberries
Logan wanted some strawberries. So I washed a bunch. He ate 1/2 of each strawberry. Hmmm. I guess the top half was the yuchy part. Today he got his cast off and his pins out. Ouch, that part would make a grown man cry. I feel so bad when my grandkids hurt...

Brecklyn's Dance Competition 26 Mar. 2011
Here is our Diamond Dancer. Their team won the Diamond award for "You are my Sunshine" and the Ruby for "It's so Quiet." No cameras were allowed, so we got only an after the fact shot. But a remembrance, none the less. Considering it was the best I have seen her dance, it made me sad not to have it recorded. I think the idea was to buy the recorded CD that they sell there. So will hope that the next performance won't have this same rule. She did amazingly well. And I was so happy to see her do such a fantastic job. She has developed into quite a clone of her mom! I liked to perform too, but in a dramatic scenario! I have to admit, though, that in my day and age, I don't think that many people really went out for dance. I remember though, that as I started BYU, that in drama, there, dance was beginning to be an important part of the drama scene, also. In high school in Cali at that time, not so much. Don't remember ever hearing much about dance companies, etc. Although cheer leading was the thing to do, if you could do it. And very few got the opportunity. There was drill team but it didn't interest me too much. I am glad that Brecklyn is able to shine in her lovely talent. She is a beautiful little girl that I hope to be able to see doing lots of wonderful things yet to come! Love you, my only granddaughter!!

Paddy's Big Day
At work on Thursday we celebrated Paddy's Day. We had Irish soda bread. It was GOOD! I want the recipe! And as you can see we had brownies and chocolates and other bread. I'm not Irish, but I celebrated anyway...why not? We should all enjoy life more!
This Was the Place
So for the RS birthday we went to This is the Place Monument. Here is my new VT, Marilyn standing next to her new friend, Herman. Herman is a little shy but I guess I would be too if I had no clothes....
Here is the cookie break. Lots and lots of cookies --all you could eat.
We were in the quilting building. I don't think I took any pics of the quilts. How forgetful!

Trick or Trick in March???
After I got home today, the doorbell rang. In walked Logan, not a word did he say. Ran to my little candy jar, removed the contents he wanted and away he ran, without one word....So was that a trick or a treat???

Spring Sprung!
The first request for date shakes came today. I grew up in Southern Cal, in the Palm Springs area where I learned about date shakes. I loved them. And so always buy the date sugar/or crystals from there and make date shakes, here at home. So time to dust off the Blend-tec and fill the orders of the day!

After the shakes, Tyson wants to have grandpa throw him some pitches.
Unfortunately, grandpa pulls a leg muscle....Ouch...

Roadshow 2011
Do you remember being young and in Roadshow? I sure do! I loved it! We had a roadshow every year back then, along with a dance festival and of course camp and youth conference. Youth conference was always at Big Bear where the Church owned a large camp site with lodge. Very nice place! Roadshow was a stake thing and held in the Stake Center in Palm Springs. They all had to be only 15 minutes long and the whole stake performed on that one night. We always had a competition at those events. Now, I think there is no longer a competition aspect.
Anyway, this year Jamie was the Roadshow director. The youth wrote and choreographed the script. She was just the planner and organizer. Here are some roadshow views.

Tyson in Wonderland! Pt. 2
A doting grandma, such as I am, can not be satisfied seeing a grandchild's production only once. So I went the opening night with my parent's and the closing night with Spencer.
Here are some shots of my special "star" The Jack of Spades!

Tyson's Last Game
A little of the action.
Gray is learning sports and making his decisions regarding what he will be doing before you know it!
After the game, the high 5's all around. We want to be good sports!
Donuts for the team. Looks like they were nummy!
Getting certificates signed by Jerry Sloan. Medals were also received by the team.
Little sister wants a donut, too....
The family prepares for home.
An after church shot.
Ty and Logi with the new hair-cuts. Brecklyn shows her photos.
Tyson in Wonderland!
In case you don't recognize my oldest grandson, he is the Jack of Spades (with the black and red card costume) This was a fantastic grade-school production. Unbelievable! Fantastic singing, dancing, which Jamie did choreography for and fancy costuming. Alice in Wonderland was a great show.. The play runs till March 8th.

Boys...Another Trip to the ER
Yesterday started out like any other day. But, abt 10-10:30 am, Spencer called me at work. Logan had an accident at the school playground. A compound fracture that broke through the skin. Oh, my....luckily he was in Salt Lake when he got the call from Brian telling him to call Jamie about an emergency.
He did and she and Logan were in the ambulance on a drive to Primary Children's in Salt Lake City. Spence wasn't far from me and so he picked me up and drove over there. We beat the ambulance. The lady at the ER was a daughter-in-law of the Hofheins neighbor up in Alpine.
Poor Logan...he barely made a peep. so quiet. Not our Logan. He had to wait till around 3:15 in the afternoon to have surgery. It was torture waiting. But there wasn't anything that we could do.
My mom got Brecklyn from the bus stop and then had Tyson a little later in the day.
Rachel took care of Grayson, who had to go to the doctor for an ear infection in both ears.
But after a noisy night at the hospital with a "neighbor baby" that cried non-stop and being across from the noisy nurses station, he is home and now has to heal. Next week he gets his hard cast and he can be Tyson's clone for a while. Two broken arm boys in 4 months. Jamie had one as an 18 month old. Looks likes broken arms are inherited???

Logan
At church Sunday Logan was supposed to give a little talk. Jamie told him to tell Spence and I about it. He came up to us and said, "grandpa, do you have a dollar, my mom said!" Spence and I weren't sure what that was all about, not knowing he was to tell us about the talk. Then he came again, "I have a talk today, do you have a dollar?"
So we are guessing this kid will do ANYTHING for a dollar!

My New Travel Gadget! The Portable Luggage Scale!
There is a reason why I bought this thing! I have never seen or heard of this thing before, but in September when I went to Poland, I couldn't weigh my bags because Danuta's scale was broken. :( And luckily in Poland nothing was weighed or mentioned at the airport! Whew, I thought, I don't need to stress about that. But...then I was staying one night in Germany with my relatives and they gave me stuff to take along with me. And even though I brought them some things, there's caused me to rearrange my bags. I didn't know what they weighed or anything and then at the airport they told me I had to pay over $200 dollars! But the lady said if I had another bag and got under the weight limit on my big bag, I only needed to pay the 2nd bag fee of something like $50. at that time. So lucky for me, I had a duffel bag, so we found a corner and started repacking everything. What an embarrassing mess it was...But we made it. I checked in my carry-on and suitcase and carried the duffel bag. It was a heavy burden, but saved me some big bucks. So when I saw this cool "scale" at Walmart, I said, "That's for me". I don't have a trip planned at the moment, but I am not going through that mess again...ever!
