Sports and Fall Fun

So football has been in the fore-front now with Logan sporting the number 1 on his jersey.  This is not a picture of today's game.  I forgot my phone today although I took one photo with Spencer's phone.  So they have won 2 and lost 1.  Today's score was 48-0 against the Lehi Pioneers.  Logan's new nick name should be pit bull.  He's little but dangerous!

Afterwards they were gathered hearing about their game.  I'm sure it was mostly all good!

Brecklyn's birthday came and went and left her with a new number!  13!  She is officially a teen.  And she was busy like a typical teen.  She had practices all afternoon and then at night a big friend party at grandma Arden's pool.  Lots of friends, gifts and fun, I would suppose.  So on Thursday night she came all alone to get her gifts from us and Omi.  Here she is admiring her new cheer shoes.

Over the Labor Day weekend, Saturday, exactly we went to Swiss Days.  We hadn't been in a while, but we wanted to go.  It turned out to be a busy day.  We made it to Midway by 7:45 and started going through the vendor booths, early. We spent a few bucks and bought this amazing piece!
We had to order it and hopefully it will be in my possession in about 2 more weeks.  I bought the "natural" one.  There are no electric plugs.  It has a battery pack in the base.  Isn't that awesome!  I just love it.

Fun Swiss Days! And interesting, although, not very "Swiss" type food.  But that's OK!  I'm always up for a good SCONE!  With Blueberry syrup on it.
Nummy! We saw that they filled the whole plate, so we shared!  And we also had great news from Arden, the DNA tests and my hard research found her biological mom.  I had been trying to help her since our second borns were engaged about 18 years ago!  Hard work, luck, prayers and we did it!  Yeah, best news I've had for a while!  More on that later when all involved have heard.

Summer's End

Just last Saturday we watched the game using umbrellas to give a bit of shade, but today we could use the umbrella to guard us from the rain.  And it's been cold the last few days.  I haven't even been able to get to the garden to pick tomatoes because it's so muddy out there!

Lots of football this time of year and Logan is right there.  Number 1.

They didn't have too good of a season this year, but that's how it goes, I guess...Life is not always easy.  And you take the good with the bad.

In August we had Youth Conference at a cabin in Parley's Canyon.  It was a lot of fun and on the last day we had to make a change of plans and have the water party at the home of the Rodriguez family.

We started out at Temple Square.
My oldest grandchild was in our midst, at least at the beginning.
Some of us were quite tired.
Some of us don't like our pics taken!
We played a game called signs for hours on end!
We played outside,too.
Many stairs up to the cabin.  So lots of extra exercise!
Some of us think they can walk on water, haha.
Others, not so daring.

So then we had a birthday for Brecklyn.  She's now a 12 year old and can go to the Temple. She did 20!
And my youngest baby also had a bday!
No she didn't just turn 325!  Jake only had these number candles. So you have to add the 5+2 =7 and that makes 37?
Then there was my conference.  Yes, mine!  I was in charge of a week long conference for the European section of the Family History Library.  Talk about alot of work, stress and boy am I glad that was one week ago!!!  It's a relief to have that over.  And I was made "assistant manager" of the Consultants, all of them, from each floor.  The official title was then given as "team lead".  But I like assistant manager better.  Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter!

Here I am at the conference.  I have never run back and forth so much in my entire life.  My poor knee has been killing me since girl's camp.  I guess I had better get that checked because it's not gone yet.  3 months....yikes.  So that is it my friends and fam!  Now to fall.  Seems I only post once a month now.  Better than never and I do have 3 blogs.  I have taken a real shine to reading and I do get lots of books these days!

A Busy Month With Lots of Things to Do!

It's the end of September.  It was a busy month.  I thought about blogging often but did I get around to it?  Only in my dreams!

So what happened?  Well, work changed DRASTICALLY.  We lost a lot of our workers to other departments and/or retirements.    Barbara retired, Baerbel and Sylvie and Paola were moved and that left Heidi and myself to man the "store". (so to speak)  It also changed our late shifts from 1-9 pm to 11-7 pm.  And without Sylvie, I have to work all the late Thursdays.  Heidi is going on vacation soon and that will leave me.  We have missionaries, too, but staff is indeed small now... So it will be interesting to see how things work out.  I will be teaching 3 Polish classes this month.  It was supposed to be Sylvie teaching 2 or them, but again, with her new assignment, I now have them all.  And lots of our assignments have changed as to what we do on an average day.  It has been somewhat stressful and hopefully we will adjust or some things will be adjusted.  Well, that's it for work.  Now on to other things.

Brecklyn had a birthday.  She turned 9 and here are some birthday pictures.

Here we are at Jamie's,  and it looks like the gangs all here!

Jamie had a birthday too.  September is a big birthday month in the family.  Jake has one, too. But I don't have any pics of his.  Sorry Jake!
And a little fun in the sun, as Logan becomes a real football star!

This guy got a handsome haircut.  He has also definitely grown a "Foot or two"!
Ty is also in football, but is playing "Flag" football.  He did really well and made a major touchdown run in Lehi running from the opposing team's 5 yard line all the way to the goal on the other end of the field.  Talk about excitement and a proud grandma!
 Homemade ice cream at grandma's.
You can always tell who has been on grandpa's computer lately...

I love this picture. Ty and grandpa talking all things baseball!
A little more football action!  Yeah, it's been a busy month, but now it's almost October, one more day to go!  And then I will have one of those icky mile-stone birthdays.   Yuch....
Have a great fall everyone!

Football Season Begins

Logan is a little "Clay Mathews" Jr.  He loves football.  Watching the Green Bay Packers or "being" a GB Packer, it's all fun for Logan.  Yesterday they had their first official game.  They won 22-0.  I guess that's a good start to the season.

Here are some shots of the day.
Logan's number is "1" and when you see the pics, he is the one with the neon yellow socks.

The fans!
Say CHEESE!

Football 2012

This year Logan started football.  I have been pretty amazed at how athletic that little 6 year old is.  I had no idea that they even started them that young.  They played their final game on Saturday, the coldest day since last winter.  I stayed home and babysat Grayson and then a little later also Brecklyn.  So I missed the action but not the COLD.  I felt badly being at home, but felt better that Jamie was glad that Grayson wasn't getting frozen.  The pictures below aren't of the game but after.  They lost, but not by much 21-18.  So I would say that they did really well.  So they came in 2nd place.  I would say that was pretty exciting!  Here the medal!

He looks mighty happy and even got a Green Bay football!  What a lucky little guy.
