Soccer Granny pt.2 or Logan, the Human Bulldozer...

Well, today Logan only made FOUR GOALS.  Their team won something like 7-0.  So Logan has been playing well like this at every game.  He is very competitive.  And he likes to play soccer, that is for sure.  Here are some of today's pics.  I think Logan really will be great at this sport as he grows older.  His daddy must be proud!

Soccer Granny

So today was busy.  I got up early and had to run to the grocery store because I forgot to buy the apples for my red cabbage.  Spencer pulled 2 heads out of the garden for me to work on today.  I freeze it in the fall and eat it the rest of the year long.  So I finished the red cabbage about 10:45 and then changed and ran to the 11:00 soccer game.  Logan's team is coached by Jake, so they should be pretty good!  And they are.  Here is the soccer action from today.  I have to say I missed the first 2 games because I had to work both Saturdays previous to today.  But Spencer went to those.  And so here the pics:

The action is exciting.  And Logan hates sitting out for a while.  But that's the way it goes.  So he cheers his team on very enthusiastically.  No one likes to sit on the sidelines - its just no FUN!

The Circus Comes to Town

Thursday was Jake's birthday.  Jamie and I had both won 4 free tickets to the circus and it was on Jake's birthday.  Spence didn't want to go.  He doesn't like the circus...sheesh.  Anyways, I had never been and so I went with Jamie, Jake and the kids.  They got to ride the trax to the Energy solution Center and that was fun, too.
I know I took more pictures than what I am finding on my card.  It might be that I took some on the camera's memory card and for that I would need to hook it to the computer.  So here are just a few shots of the evening.  First, we ate at Siegfried's.  And then on to the circus.

Ty really loves the German food, brats, fried potatoes and red cabbage.  Breck says the red cabbage does not taste like grandma's.  What's wrong with it?  Logan hates the water, after all we are in Salt Lake and the water here is not all that great.  Breck says can she get some mac and cheese??

Sunday Afternoons

We have gotten into a sort of routine where after church on Sundays, the grandkids come over and they have their first dinner at our house, and then later they go to their other grandmother's for dinner, again.  I think when they have other places to go that I miss them and it doesn't seem like Sunday.  So I have come to expect and enjoy this little routine.
They feel pretty relaxed at grandma's.

They come over with various transportation methods.

Sometimes they remember to wear protective headgear.  Sometimes they forget it and just leave it at grandma's.

What do they do?  How about an exhausting jump rope session?

Logan likes to play blocks.  He built a temple today, that's because it's Sunday, right?  Ty is playing computer games and when Brecklyn isn't watching Justin Bieber on the computer she is busy as the receptionist at the doctor/dentist office.  Today my appointment was to have a filling, a shot and my chicken pox and poison ivy "removed".  Not sure how that is done, but you know modern medicine...

And now the legos are put away, the blocks, too.  The pick-up sticks have been picked up and I am ready to watch my German movies before I go to bed.  And what did you do today?

Breslau

I had a friend look into some Breslau research for me, and although she was unable to find the patient records from the Hebamme Lehranstalt, I did get a pretty postcard from her. I sure would like to go again.  What a wonderful place.  Mom, I can sure understand your feelings about this wonderful city. 

My Baby Turns 32

Tuesday was Jamie's birthday.  She's 32.  Wow!  That means I'm how old??? Oh my gosh.  How fast the years have flown and she is now a mother of 4 cute people.  I love this girl and hope that she has a wonderful life to come. 

9-11-11

Today is the 10th anniversary of 9-11, a day not easily forgotten.  When we got to church today, there were flags posted.  It really was breathtaking to see them.  The pictures do no justice, but at least I have a picture so that I can remember today, also.

I remember exactly what we were doing on 9-11.  I had taken the day off on 9-11, because the next day my mother and I were flying to Germany.  Spence was eating his breakfast at the counter in the kitchen while watching the news on TV.  Then it happened.  He called me in and we just stared at the TV.  It was horrible, and it quickly continued to get worse as time passed.  Needless to say, there was no trip to Germany that year. 

Breckie Turns 7

Today Grayson really enjoyed being with Brian.  He then let me hold him and feed him some birthday cake.  He was definitely happy to celebrate this day with his big sister!
