Dancing the Night Away!

Today was a typically busy Saturday for me.  4 baseball games, of which 2 were canceled due to rain and a 4 hour dance recital for Brecklyn.  See the program on the side.  It was fun to see her dance.  She has gotten so good.  It seems all my grandkids do everything really well.  Proud of them!

Here is Tyson on the right side, second row, 3rd from the right side.  He's singing!  And is in the 8th grade boys choir and sings BASS!  Good grief!  Didn't have a clue, really.  He auditioned for 9th grade Troubadour singers and another choir, was it Acapella?  Not sure but he made both choirs.  You get a surprise every day!

Last week we drove to Idaho Spud country for a baseball tournament.  It was cold, rainy and a bit windy but he managed to be able to play all his games.  Tyson's team won the first game and lost the last 3.  Sigh, Oh. Well, such is life.

Two games were in American Falls, Idaho.  Here is the pretty lake.  There was a cafe down by the Marina where we had breakfast and lunch.

Here's a picture of the cute bed and breakfast that we had hoped to stay at, but the owner's husband had surgery and it would have been difficult for her.  So we stayed at a motel at the edge of town.  It was not this nice, so I didn't take a picture of it.  But it was cheap!

The following day was Mother's Day and we grabbed a moment to take a 4 generation picture at my mom's house.  3 moms and the mother of my future "great" grandchildren.  Whew what a scary thought!!!

And we have been to several of Logan's baseball games too.  Today their team won against the best team in the league, Jamie told me.

And little man got a much-wanted haircut.  Isn't he cute with that blonde head of his?

And a hug for grampa after the dance concert.  Awww.  I like that alot !  So that's the catching up part and tomorrow is Spencer's bday!

School Play Time!

It was fun to go to the elementary school play last nite.  My two grandkids, Brecklyn and Logan were in the play and did a super job.  And their mom choreographed 5 dances.  Spence and I enjoyed the show and here are a few pics for you!

Jamie choreographed 5 dances.  She did a great job, as always!  Here's the Bird Girl, Brecklyn.  In another school play, not her first.  And she is getting to be a really great dancer, like her mama!

How did she do that for so long.  She didn't even wobble!  Great play and great family.  Wonderful evening.

Erma's 100th Birthday

Cakes and goodies for Erma's big celebration!  She even made it 2 weeks in a row in the Church News.  Erma comes to the Library 3 times a week, without fail.  She is an avid genealogist!

Nellie and Erma.  Nellie is a missionary that just turned 96 the week before Erma's party.  She was a missionary at the time of the Library's shooting and was at the entrance and was shot in the face.  The bullet caught in her false teeth and she survived.  Two others were shot to death on that awful day.

But today is happy.

They are both still at the Library and here they are!

The dinner was great! And we all gained weight....

Well, I wish Erma many more years at the FHL.  We shall keep you posted on this!

My Dad's 85th birthday.

My dad's birthday was surrounded with his not feeling well and anticipating a surgical procedure on the following Monday.  So no party :( but such is life, sometimes.  I went over and Jamie went over later and took him big balloons in the shape of numbers 85.

We are hoping that he will recover from the surgery and have some better days soon.

Tyson turns 14!

Tyson had his 14th birthday on Friday and we celebrated it as a family on the 13th.  It is hard to believe I have been a grandma for 14 years!  Am I really that old???   Here are the highlights of his birthday.  The family pitched in to buy him the Macbook you see there, that he has been wanting!

So this time it wasn't quantity it was quality!

Oh, yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Tyson gave everyone a big hug.  I think he was happy!

Grandpa had a special gift for Tyson, a reminder of his own "youth" playing baseball.

And a delicious cheese cake with a big "14".

The greatgrands were also able to come.

Warm, sunny Weekend------UNTIL!

So we went down to Saint George for Tyson's baseball teams' tournament.  Unfortunately, they lost all 4 games, but oh well, those are the rough times we all go through in life.  Doesn't mean we aren't good, just that we will have to try harder again the next time.  Sometimes, too, it is bad umpires and really bad calls.  Yes, there were quite a few of those!

Two of the games were in Mesquite, Nevada.  It was pretty nice weather the whole time we were there.  We left for home just after 4:00 in the afternoon from St. George.  It had begun to cool down just a bit before we left.

Then we drove home and got stuck in a snowstorm.  It was all good till we got to Beaver, Utah.  And as usual we hit bad weather there.  It started blowing and snowing from one minute to the next.  Jamie and her family were about an hour behind us.  We texted them to go no farther than Beaver, but they came and had some troubles on the road.  But she posted on Facebook and so you may have seen her post.  We all stayed overnight in a motel in Fillmore.  They had nice comforters and a nice breakfast.  It was so cold when we left in the morning, but the roads were pretty good.  But I am glad that we didn't go any farther.  We were all a bit tired and frazzled!

Last Third Ward Party :(

Well on my birthday the ward had it's last party as the "old" third ward.  They took some great people out and put it others in a area that isn't all that close.  So therefore, on my birthday, instead of going out, as I had planned on, we went to the ward party.  It was kind of sad to know that so many would not be returning to our Sunday services.  I think everyone will miss them.
